Sorry about the gap in posts, been workin' hard ;)
Today I think it is important that we focus on a word that everyone needs to make a conscious effort to have more of: DISCIPLINE.
The US Navy SEALs (Sea, Air & Land) are some of the most feared, elite warriors in the entire world. This is most likely because they are one of the most well-trained groups of men on the face of the planet. Before they even see any action on the battlefield, they have to endure years of training that forges a lifestyle of discipline. Preparation alone consists of more than 12 months of initial training that includes Basic Underwater Demolition / SEAL BUD/S School, Parachute Jump School and SEAL Qualification Training (SQT), followed by an additional 18 months of pre-deployment training and intensive specialized training. Everything in training is designed to push the trainees to their physical and mental limits. Believe it or not, there are options for even more training after that. So what's the point?
The SEAL program only wants the most disciplined of all men because in their working environment, there is no margin for error. Even more importantly, when the bullets start flying and mayhem breaks out in a combat situation, the SEALs do not break form and do not panic. They move as a unit, communicate as a unit, work as a unit, and win as a unit. They have so much discipline that no matter what is thrown their way, they never break... ever. They are prepared for anything. That is why they are so successful. They is why they are so greatly feared by enemies.
Now look at your life through the SEAL lens. How much discipline do you implement into your life? In your business? In your training? In your preparation? How much do your enemies/competitors fear you because of your discipline? I argue that you should practice discipline in every area of your life: work ethic, personal relations, fitness & health, diet, everything. It will make all of the difference in the world, I guarantee it. Be disciplined so that when the proverbial bullets start flying over your head, no matter what your mission/goal is, you will have the confidence and courage to persist, Venture On and never settle because you are ready for it.
